Teddy Bear Run
The Spalding County Teddy Bear Run
The Teddy Bear Run is presented by The Southside Riders Association, Complete Truck Bodies, Inc. and Truett’s Grill of Griffin to help supply Law Enforcement with a way to comfort young children in stressful situations.
This police escorted ride starts at Truett’s Grill of Griffin on Saturday July 22nd 2017 and travels via Hwy 341 to Lanes peach orchard in Fort Valley. The ride takes 1hr 10 minutes and passes through the beautiful scenery of South Georgia. The cost of this ride is 1 new Teddy Bear or stuffed animal (or $10) per person.
The community donates clean, new Teddy Bears and stuffed animals and then we take donated bears / stuffed animals and a small toy and seal them in a bag to help protect the teddy bears / stuffed animals until they are needed. Then we distribute them to the local law enforcement. Here a just a few examples:
- Spalding County Sheriff’s Dept.
- City of Griffin Police Dept.
- Upson County Sheriff’s Dept
- Pike County Police & Fire Dept
- GA State Patrol
- Henry County Sheriff’s Dept.
The Southside Rider’s Association is a non-profit, charity centered group of motorcycle enthusiasts, who have organized for the purpose of improving the image of the motorcyclist in our community. Through fellowship, brotherhood, and community involvement, we shall unite with a common goal to improve ourselves and the children of the State of Georgia. Our tools will be community involvement and our support of Local Children’s Charities.
